Artistic Re-interpretation of the art collection
at sunnaas hospital

Picture
Sunnaas is Norways largest rehabilitation hospital, where most patients are grateful to have rehabilitated from dramatic, life changing accidents.

This gratitude, along with the hospitals interest in good living conditions have led to a large and extremely varied art collection, which now needs to be contextualized, re-interpreted and freshened up. It´s a matter of respect. Selected artworks will be up in december (images below), and re-interpretation artworks in september 2017. Curators: Helga Marie Nordby and Eirin Støen

What I like about using flickr, as my photographic database and workspace, is that there is one axis which can be chronologically traced back to selected moments from a lived reality in time and space, also called life. Sometimes dull, sometimes interesting, always looked at. But cutting through that time and space bound resemblance of a reality, are the albums organized from very different principles. For instance the mysterious writing on my pier, "FOREST." From this database I curate one photo a day to my less overwhelming instagram.

The work consists of 12 photographic still lifes, and is a concentration on the organic kinship between objects of different functional and aesthetical classes. What they have in common is staying in my studio for some or several years, not knowing where to go. The process is documented and archived here
