Untouched School bread in Istanbul (pandemic solution)
Schoolbread are sweet, soft, yeast rolls with custard, icing and shredded coconut. They are a typical, norwegian treat from early 1900's. If store bought, they cost half of a Big Mac.
It's the most comforting of comfort foods, I found a way to make them without touching them. I baked and baked for my neighbours the first half of the covid-19 pandemic. I don't know if they needed it, but I certainly did. My best recipe then appeared on a billboard in Istanbul in the fall of 2020, with a suggestion to place half the batch on your neighbours doorstep.
